Charlotte Highlight: Axios Power Players

Matt and I had an alternative date night last night, November 29th. We had the pleasure of attending Axios Charlotte's Power Players event at the stunning Mint Musuem.

We also got to hear from thought-provoking entrepreneurs shaping the Queen City. It was motivating to hear from Cornell Jones, the Founder of the Mad Miles Run Club. He turned his hobby of running into a community movement of hundreds in Charlotte, running no less (rain or shine). Needless to say, it made us a feel a little lazy--ha!

We also heard from Charlotte's All-Time Power Player, Hugh McColl. He spent the majority of his career at Bank of America (coined in Charlotte as "THE Bank"). He grew Bank of America over 50-fold, and this came from attracting banking talent from New York. Now why would a savvy, young banker be interested in moving to North Carolina? The experiences and lifestyle of Charlotte, NC, hence the initiatives to grow Charlotte into a real metropolis.

Needless to say, we remain grateful and excited for what's in store with our expansion into the Southeast.
